Well, we’ve made it! The holidays are behind us and an entirely new year lies ahead. Sometimes January can feel like a letdown after the hustle and bustle of December. However, the New Year is a special time that’s filled with promise—especially for us middle-aged gals.

Far from the “dead of winter,” this season can represent a re-commitment, re-focus, and renewal of purpose and energies. January marks the time to concentrate once again on what we want to accomplish for ourselves. It’s the time to create and incubate our dreams and then design the steps to make them into realities.

As women in midlife, we are more self-confident, more assertive, and, more than ever before, primed and ready to leave our unique mark upon the world. So, let’s plan to make 2008 THE YEAR to create the life we want and deserve. Let’s step outside of our comfort zone, push our self-imposed boundaries, and concentrate on creating success in our lives.

As a career and life transition counselor, I’ve got some ideas that you may find helpful. So, check back often. My next several blogs will provide some steps that you can take to focus your energies, create a sustainable action plan, and drive yourself forward towards achieving your own and very special dreams and goals.
